Ang Babae sa Septic Tank” is Philippines’ entry to the Foreign Language Film category of Oscars

The Eugene Domingo-starrer was selected by the Film Academy of the Philippines to represent the Philippines in the Best Foreign Language Film category of the 84th Academy Awards.

This satirical indie film is directed by Marlon Rivera under a script by Chris Martinez (Here Comes the Bride, 100, Temptation Island).
The movie bagged 5 trophies during the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival last July including Best Film in the New Breed category, Best Actress, Best Director, and Best Screenplay.
“Ang Babae sa Septic Tank” bested 6 other films in consideration like the period film “Rosario,” the coming-of-age “Senior Year,” 2010 MMFF’s Indie Film of the Year “Presa,” the horror movie “Dalaw,” the horror comedy “Zombadings 1: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington” and the inspirational film “Ikaw ang Pag-ibig.”
