MMFF Best Picture Winners from 1975 to 2011
The controversial commercial viability (box-office performance of the entries) criterion that decided heavily on the selection of the Best Picture in previous festivals is no longer applicable this year. The criteria this time for the selection of Best Picture(s) are artistry, creativity and technical excellence, innovativeness, thematic value and global appeal, and Filipino cultural and/or historical value.
