Zanjoe will play the role of “Silang”, a man searching for a precious gem but instead finds his true love.

For his character in “Hiyas”, Zanjoe sports a tribal look with matching ethnic tatoos on his back. Just like Aljur Abrenica in Machete, he has scenes where he is half-naked in “Hiyas.” As Aljur got rid of the long hair look in Machete, Zanjoe, on the other hand will don it in Hiyas. But will Zanjoe wear loin cloth or “bahag”, too?

Also starring in PHR “Hiyas” is young actress/host Megan Young as Zanjoes leading lady. Other members of its cast include Joross Gamboa, John Arcilla, Edward Mendez, Nonie Buencamino, Kristel Moreno, and Neri Naig.

This next PHR is being helmed by acclaimed Indie director Adolf Alix, Jr.

So is it going to be a battle of dark hunks on primetime television? Will Hiyas go head to head against Machete? But since Machete is nearing its end, “Hiyas” just might vie with another tribal-themed teleserye on GMA–Amaya–starring Marian Rivera if the Kapamilya network will line it up under its Primetime Bida block.

Actor Zanjoe Marudo continues to show versatility in his craft after his character underwent several changes in the opening of the new chapter of the hit teleserye “Martha Cecilia’s Kristine.”

Far from the simple and playful Jaime, Zanjoe’s character now is more serious about life and is more ambitious. This after Jaime finally embraced his true identity as Bernard de Silva-Fortalejo, the heir of two of the most powerful families in Paso De Blas.
That is why from the fields where he used to toil, Zanjoe’s character can now be seen dressed formally whenever he sits in the boardroom of his family’s company.
“Heto na ang challenge sa akin bilang aktor…ang transition mula sa pagiging Jaime papunta sa pagiging Bernard. Si Jaime kasi masiyahin siya, wala pa siyang baggage na dinadala. Si Bernard, mas confident, mas malalaki na ang goals hindi lang sa sarili kundi para rin sa ibang tao,” said the Prince of Passion.
He added that unlike Jaime, whose world revolved around Jewel (Cristine Reyes), Bernard is wise enough to strive to continue his life without his former love. Part of his moving-on phase, of course, is meeting new women. This week, we saw sparks fly between Bernard and Dianna, played by Bangs Garcia.

“Habang wala si Jewel, magiging mag-kaibigan si Bernard at Dianna. Abangan na lang ng mga tao kung saan mapupunta ang relasyon nila,” Zanjoe teased.
Aside from Bangs, two more sexy young actresses are joining the cast— Iya Villania and Kristel Moreno. With the entry of new characters, Zanjoe said there will be more love stories and storylines to follow for the viewers in the epic TV adaptation of the number one best selling pocketbook series in the Philippines.
In the coming week, Jewel will face a threat of danger from a person who knows her real identity. Bernard will also discover Dianna’s deep dark secret that could spell doom to their blooming romance. Still, their story will end up with a marriage proposal from Bernard, who thought all this time that Jewel is dead.
Meanwhile, Scarlet (Iya) and Marco de Silva (Rafael Rosell) also begin to get closer to each other, while the paths of Nathaniel (JM de Guzman) and Jasmin (Kristel Moreno) will cross again after their awkward first meeting.

Shaina Magdayao is ready to reveal her true self in her very first daring role beginning this Monday (Sep 20) on ABS-CBN.

Growing in public eye, the former child actress is embarking on the most challenging role in her 15-year-career in Precious Hearts Romances Presents “Alyna.”

Based on the pocketbook “Dominic” by popular romance novelist Martha Cecilia, the newest afternoon drama will revolve around the life of Alyna (Shaina Magdayao), a girl who grew up deprived of love. Eventually, she falls in love with Rex (Sid Lucero) but after they get married and have a child, Rex suddenly disappears and leaves Alyna distraught.

Lonely and vulnerable, Alyna falls in love with another man, Dominic (Jason Abalos) but things will soon get complicated when Rex returns in her life. Which man will she choose—the first man who loved her or the man who helped her recover from a broken heart and promised to love her forever?

Shaina, television’s Princess of Hearts, revealed that it wasn’t hard for her to accept the project even if it was a sensual material.

“As long as I believe in the project, in my director and my leading men, na hindi bastos yung kalalabasan, okay lang sa ‘kin,” says the former child star.

Shaina is joined by her leading men Sid Lucero and Jason Abalos, two of the most-awarded young actors of today.

Sid said he immediately built a rapport with Shaina even if this is only their first time to work together. He said there were no awkward moments even during their intimate scenes.

“With Shaina, it’s not a problem. We talk about how we would like to attack a scene. We remind each other na ‘I’m supposed to like you here,” he explained.

Jason, meanwhile, is excited to work again with Shaina.

“Nakaka-excite kasi yung mga naka-trabaho mo noon, makakatrabaho mo ulit,” ayon kay Jason na proud sa naabot ng kaibigan,” he said.
“Para kay Shaina ‘to. Big step ito para sa career niya,” he added.

Shaina isn’t the only one going the daring route. Kaya Abad, also known for her wholesome image, is also making a big step in her career through “Alyna” by playing a very off-beat role.

“Acting wise, mas matured na yung role ko. May twist kasi yung character na hindi ko pa nagagawa sa mga nagdaang role ko. Doon ako nae-excite,” shared Kaye

Sam Milby has bought a bed to share with Impostor co-star Maja Salvador.

Sa kali-kaliwang tsismis na nag-uugnay kina Prince of Romance Sam Milby at Drama Sweetheart Maja Salvador, nananatiling tahimik ang dalawa sa usaping pag-big. Halatang kapwa tutok ang dalawa sa hit romantic-comedy-drama series nilang Precious Hearts Romances (PHR) presents Impostor.

Sa isang exclusive interview kay Maja, naikwento nitong dahil sa madalas na pagsasama nila ni Sam, mas lalong tumatatag ang kanilang pagkakaibigan. “Happy ako sa kung anumang friendship meron kami ni Sam. Dahil sa loveteam namin, may mga nanunukso na baka magkagustuhan kami, na hindi matatapos ang Impostor nang hindi magiging “kami.” Pero hindi kami nagpapa-apekto sa ganon ni Sam. Okay kaming dalawa, walang ilangan, parang kuntento kami sa friendship.”

Nang tanungin kung paano niya inaalagaan si Sam bilang kaibiga, hindi naitago sa sagot ni Maja ang kakaibang pag-aasikaso niya sa kanyang leading man. “Dinadalhan ko siya ng food kasi dinadalhan niya rin ako ng food. Sa halos araw-araw naming pagsasama, halos alam na namin kung ano ‘yung diet ng isa’t-isa. ‘Yung favorite niya mga cereals. Kaya kapag pumupunta ako ng grocery minsan bumibili ako. Kapag may mga binibigay sa aking pasalubong, binibigyan ko rin siya. Tapos siya rin, kapag pumupunta siya ng S&R, kapag gusto ko kumain ng carbonarra, ‘yun binibigyan niya ako.”

Aliw na naikuwento rin ni Maja ang tungkol sa pinagkakatuwaan nilang bed na binili ni Sam kamakailan. “Minsang nagpunta siya ng S&R, may nakita siyang air bed. Sabi niya para daw sa amin. Pwede daw kasi ‘yun for two. Tapos one time dinala niya sa set. Habang nagte-take siya, since sinabi naman niyang “para yan sa ‘tin” ‘yun, so doon ako nag-stay. Tapos ayun na! Ako lang ‘yung gumamit ng bed hanggang sa na-packup. Nung ginising niya ako, tinanggal niya yung hangin. So parang nakahiga na lang ako sa sahig.”

Pahayag naman ng Impostor co-star nilang si Jason Francisco, lagi daw niyang napapansing naglalaro sina Maja at Sam sa set. “Lagi din po silang nagho-holding hands. Lagi rin silang nag-aasaran. Laging pinipikon ni Maja si Sam. Parang sobra po slang magka-close.”

Katulad ng closeness nina Sam at Maja, mas lalong nagiging malapit na ang loob ng mga bida sa PHR presents Impostor na sina Anthony (Sam) at Devin (Maja). Sa pagpapatuloy ng kwento, tuluyan nang napaibig ni Devin si Anthony dahil sa pag-aakalang ito ang asawa n’yang si Mariz, kaya naman hindi na pinigilan pa ni Anthony ang kanyang nararamdaman na humantong sa isang “renewal of vows” o muling pagpapakasal nilang dalawa.

Ngunit kasabay ng “bagong buhay” ng mag-asawa ang sunod-sunod na rebelasyon ng katotohanan.Paano kayang tatanggapin ni Donya Valeria, ang ina ni Anthony at lola ni Joshua na anak ni Julio si Joshua at walang karapatan sa mga pag-aari ng mga Florencio? Paano kung tuluyan ng inamin ni Devin ang totoo n’yang pagkatao kay Anthony? Ano ang magiging epekto nito sa kanilang samahan? Saang hahantong ang pagiging impostor ni Devin?

In an exclusive interview with Rafael and Denise, both expressed their excitement over the forthcoming launch of their first romantic-drama-suspense series together.

According to Denise, Midnight Phantom is different from the other PHR series that she did. “It’s not your typical love story. Dito, maraming istoryang patong-patong, even the characters themselves discover and are surprised with the things that are laid out in front of them. The viewers, especially the young people, should watch it because we can learn something from this to avoid committing mistakes.”

When asked about their characters, Denise and Rafael shared that it’s something that will catch the interest of the audience because of its peculiarity. “Si Brandon ay sampung taong na-depress. Meron siyang malaking scar sa mukha na nagpapaalala sa kanya ng kanyang madilim na nakaraan. Challenging ‘yung role kasi Brandon’s character is rough pero hindi bastos. He’s careless and full of mystery,” said Rafael.

Denise, on the other hand, can somehow identify to her role as Nadja. “We’re both very malambing. But unlike Nadja who is naïve and well-protected, I grew up strong and very independent.” Kwento pa ni Denise, naging madali para sa kanyang mahalin ang character niya dahil na rin sa tulong ni Raf. “Raf and I, we grew up as buddies since Ang TV days. At first, it was difficult to look at him as a leading man, and him to look at me as a leading lady since we knew each other for a long, long time. But it’s also because of that why we clicked. We work together as a loveteam. So we help each other out in days na puyat kami. We always guarded each other.”
