PHR presents Martha Cecilia’s Midnight Phantom

In celebration of its first anniversary, ABS-CBN’s hit afternoon drama Precious Hearts Romances Presents features a premium and highly anticipated TV series that will surely capture the hearts and imagination of the viewers– PHR presents Martha Cecilia’s Midnight Phantom!

Based from the popular local romance novel authored by Martha Cecilia and directed by multi-awarded box office director Cathy Garcia-Molina, PHR presents Martha Cecilia’s Midnight Phantom is topbilled by hunk model-actor Rafael Rosell and actress-singer Denise Laurel. Both Rafael and Denise starred in several PHR series including Bud Brothers, You’re Mine Only Mine and Substitute Bride. But Midnight Phantom is the first TV drama that will be launch them as an official loveteam, a milestone that their fans really celebrated.

PHR presents Martha Cecilia’s Midnight Phantom is a story about love, passion, betrayal and vengeance. It revolves around the life of the mysterious radio DJ Brandon (Rafael) who is well-known to his listeners as the “Midnight Phantom.” Full of twists and turns, viewers will be lured with Brandon’s “scarred past” and his unique way of captivating women with his sweet words. Being famous, a beautiful college student named Nadja (Denise) falls in love with his voice and eventually would do anything just to meet this adored DJ. With this, it was easy for Brandon to convince Nandja to join him in the “Phantom Island,” where a dark secret from the past will be revealed and will change their lives forever.

In an exclusive interview with Rafael and Denise, both expressed their excitement over the forthcoming launch of their first romantic-drama-suspense series together.

According to Denise, Midnight Phantom is different from the other PHR series that she did. “It’s not your typical love story. Dito, maraming istoryang patong-patong, even the characters themselves discover and are surprised with the things that are laid out in front of them. The viewers, especially the young people, should watch it because we can learn something from this to avoid committing mistakes.”

When asked about their characters, Denise and Rafael shared that it’s something that will catch the interest of the audience because of its peculiarity. “Si Brandon ay sampung taong na-depress. Meron siyang malaking scar sa mukha na nagpapaalala sa kanya ng kanyang madilim na nakaraan. Challenging ‘yung role kasi Brandon’s character is rough pero hindi bastos. He’s careless and full of mystery,” said Rafael.

Denise, on the other hand, can somehow identify to her role as Nadja. “We’re both very malambing. But unlike Nadja who is naïve and well-protected, I grew up strong and very independent.” Kwento pa ni Denise, naging madali para sa kanyang mahalin ang character niya dahil na rin sa tulong ni Raf. “Raf and I, we grew up as buddies since Ang TV days. At first, it was difficult to look at him as a leading man, and him to look at me as a leading lady since we knew each other for a long, long time. But it’s also because of that why we clicked. We work together as a loveteam. So we help each other out in days na puyat kami. We always guarded each other.”

Also starring Charee Pineda, Jommy Teotico at Hansen Nichols, Midnight Phantom features critically-acclaimed indie actor JM de Guzman and seasoned actors Spanky Manikan, Beverly Salviejo, and Cris Villanueva. The TV series also highlights the special participation of Ms. Ina Raymundo as Anya.
