Public Atorni on September 15 and 22 after AKSYON JournalisMO on TV5

Catch the two-part anniversary special of Public Atorni on September 15 and 22 after AKSYON JournalisMO on TV5.

They say godparents are handpicked by parents to support a child’s upbringing and personal development. And so Chona Martinez, godmother of Jessica, did just that. She was always ready to care for her goddaughter whenever her parents were not around. That’s why it breaks the doting ninang’s heart when a tearful Jessica confided that she was being abused by different men—sold by her own mother no less. Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) chief and people’s attorney, Persida Acosta, flies to Cebu to look after the potential violation of Child Abuse Act and let the complainant and respondent face mediation in the anniversary special of Public Atorni this Thursday after AKSYON JournalisMO on TV5.

After settling more than 100 cases mostly concentrated in Mega Manila, NEWS5’s reality-based on-air mediation program Public Atorni goes to Cebu to be of help to Kapatids in need of legal aid services. The show lets the wheels of justice get unclogged by settling claims and disputes through the mediation of Atty. Acosta.

“I’m personally very happy with this program because this is consistent with the mandate of PAO to encourage battling parties to reconcile through alternative means such asmediation, conciliation and arbitration. The options are clear for them: asunto o areglo (to sue or to settle),” says Atty. Acosta.

Aside from the child abuse case, Public Atorni will also look into three other issues from Cebu, including a theft case involving best buds ‘Ruffa’ and ‘Angel.’ The two are so well-bonded that they almost share the same misfortune, passion and likes. But that passion had created a vacuum—all because of a missing make-up kit.

The mediation on-air show has also conducted a free legal clinic to hear local cases there with the assistance of NEWS5 senior reporter Ina Zara and AKSYON Bisaya co-anchor Lanne Sino Cruz.

Be informed about legal rights. Watch the two-part anniversary special of Public Atorni on September 15 and 22 after AKSYON JournalisMO on TV5. Catch the full and earlier episodes of NEWS5’s public affairs programs from Monday to Friday, 8:30-9:30pm, on TV5’s 24/7 news channel Aksyon TV (Channel 41 in Mega Manila, Channel 29 in Metro Cebu and Davao, Channel 1 on Cignal Digital TV and Channel 59 on Sky Cable).

The New Kapatid Chistine Bersola Babao

Tintin joins Chiqui and Amy as they engage and empower moms like them in TV5’s new morning show “Kumare Klub.”

Moms at home tuned in earlier to watch the pilot episode of Kumare Klub right after the newly-revitalized Sapul sa Singko on TV5.

TV5’s newest daily morning magazine offering is a spin-off to Sapul sa Singko’s mommy-centric segment Kumare Tips following a very positive feedback from the then segment hosted by Amy Perez and Chiqui Roa-Puno. Joining the magkumare Amy and Chiqui in the newest program under TV5 News and Information Division is the newest addition to Kapatid Network, Chistine Bersola Babao.

Tintin, as what she’s widely-known, has been one of the most prominent faces of morning shows since she started co-anchoring her very first morning show with her real-life husband, broadcaster Julius Babao 15 years ago. A hands-on mom to her kids Antonia and Antonio Francesco, the radio-TV host and children’s book author has been supporting advocacies that champion women’s and children’s welfare and right parenting for moms.

“Ever since we launched the segment on Sapul sa Singko, we’ve seen how the viewers, especially mothers who stay at home, patronized every tips Tiyang Amy and Nyora Chiqui deliver in a very light and easy-to-understand manner. They’re watching real mothers themselves who can relate to their daily dealings as manager of household. This prompted the management to produce a standalone show dedicated to mothers,” said Bing Mallari-Maaño, program manager of NEWS5.

“And with Amy, Chiqui and Tintin aboard, we are very hopeful that our viewers will embrace our team’s effort to put up a very informative show for moms,” Bing continued.

Every day, the dynamic trio serves the viewers with exciting dishes of information and solutions that will surely become helpful to every household. Together they solve household concerns with very easy steps and using simple and often-overlooked materials and remedies via “Kumare Tips.” Most of the time, the welfare of their family always comes first for mothers. Through “Kumare Chika,” Ate Tintin, Nyora Chiqui and Tiyang Amy will talk to mothers and look after their personal (and sometimes) relationship problems with light-hearted kwentuhan about domestic trends and bits of showbiz intrigues.

Tiyang Amy talks about potential startup businesses and entrepreneurial activities that mothers can engage in via “NegoTyang; while she gives ideas on what’s good for lunch on “Luto na ba, Tiyang?” Meanwhile, Ate Tin gives a daily dose of parenting tips through “Parentin;” while making sure that moms could stay fab even at home on “Fashionistang Mudra.” Nyora Chiqui, on the other hand, teaches mom to stay fit and live healthy one step at a time via “Chiqui-Chiqui Dance” and “Ok ka lang?” Other must-watch segments are cheap and bargain finds “Pasok sa Budget,” “Pera Pera Lang” with Chinkee Tan and “Palengke Watch” with Rhoda Magnaye.

Don’t miss every episode of Kumare Klub from Monday to Friday, 7am to 8am, after Sapul sa Singko on TV5.

The in-demand comedienne turns into a game show host.

Aside from doing TV sitcoms and movies from various film outfits, Eugene Domingo will now venture into game show hosting via TV5′s “Lucky Numbers.”

This is not her first time hosting a television show. She’s done this job via GMA-7′s “Cool Center”, “Wachamakulit” and “Comedy Bar.” But TV5′s “Lucky Numbers” is different because it’s the local version of a popular British game show called “Magic Numbers.” It’s a hard core tv game show although we can expect Eugene to inject some elements of comedy to make it entertaining as well as exciting to televiewers.

Lucky Numbers, just like the original “Magic Numbers”, is a fast-paced, gripping show where cellphone numbers can win you a huge amount of money live. The show will generate six magic numbers through a mix of studio surprises and high-energy performances by Jon Avila, Andrew Wolfe, Tres Marias, Biriteras, Jan Nieto, Wendy Valdez and Regine Tolentino and other celebrity guests. To register, home viewers will have to earn two numbers (based on the last seven digits of the cellphone number) from six magic numbers generated. One lucky phone contestant is then selected to participate in the tension-filled money end-game where they can win up to P1 million in cash prizes.

Lucky Numbers is set to premiere this Sunday (1:00 p.m.), February 27, right after Joey de Leon‘s Pinoy Samurai. It’s part of TV5′s Tanghaling Go-Go-Go!

The family that plays together wins together, as House or Not calls on some enthusiastic group of family members to play.

To turn the house rolling, the game challenges several groups to hit slippery obstacles and outdo others to be the only group standing strong. A stylized doll house with four rooms (each representing a home showcase) awaits the winning team inside the studio. They have to secure their way and win corresponding games against the keen eyes of some outrageous “guardians.” The team will advance to the final game after completing three sets of game. Meanwhile, the family members are up for some sweaty course as they have to beat a fast-paced giant treadmill with obstacles along the way to win the last remaining showcase. The family is one-key away from their dream house as they have to pick the right key to their home.
