After taking a short break abroad, comedian Vice Ganda on Monday returned to ABS-CBN noontime program “Showtime.”
The comeback of the “Showtime’s” resident judge has put to rest all speculations that he was leaving the show.
“Kailangan kong bumalik kasi hindi naman ako nag-retiro. Hindi naman ako nag-resign. Ang usapan bakasyon lang. Babalik at babalik talaga ako. Ayokong mawala sa ‘Showtime,’” said Vice Ganda, who spent his vacation in Europe.
Vice Ganda also quickly shot down swirling rumors that he was asking a higher talent fee from the network now that he is fast gaining popularity.
“Hindi, may kontrata ito…. Meron akong kontratang tatapusin… Kailangan i-galang ang kontrata. Kasunduan nga. Para ano pang pumirma ka kung hindi mo susundin,” he said.
He said he is very excited to be back. “Aminin natin may mga bagay na gusto mong ginagawa pero dahil sa araw araw mong ginagawa nababawasan ang excitement. Ngayon, sobrang excited na ako ulit. Parang bago ako sa show. Gustong gusto ko na namang pumasok.”
He is also happy that “Showtime” has a new timeslot as he hopes that the move will attract more viewers for the show.
Aside from “Showtime,” Vice Ganda is busy preparing for his two new films this year.
According to Vice Ganda, the remake of "Petrang Kabayo" will be screened on October 6.
His other film, a remake of 1988 movie "Super Inday and the Golden Bibe," will also feature Marian Rivera, Jake Cuenca and Pokwang.
