I Heart You Pare! Main Character (2011)

Dingdong Dantes is Kenneth, a carefree and impulsive guy and most of all, a playboy. His character is described as being “habulin ng mga babae.”

During one fateful night, Kenneth meet Tonya (the character of Regine Velasquez), a conservative girl in a bar in Vigan. True to the saying that opposites attract, Kenneth and Tonya share an accidental kiss. After this unexpected encounter, Kenneth and Tonya part ways and lead separate lives. By some weird twist of fate, Kenneth will meet Tonya again, this time with Tonya posing as the gay Tonette in the bar that Kenneth manages.

While both Kenneth and Tonette share not just the same fate of hiding from their misfortunes but also each other’s secrets and inhibitions, will the truth find a way to spark romance between the unlikely lovers? Will there be a happily ever after ending for the conservative Tonya and the happy-go-lucky Kenneth, or will it be a crazy love story between the flamboyant Tonette and the alpha male Kenneth?

Kjwan‘s lead singer and hunk actor Marc Abaya will tackle comedy for the first time as he assumes the character of Joel, a friendly and flirtatious hunk who would fall in love with the character of Regine Velasquez (Tonya) in “I ♥ You Pare.”

The rock star hunk actor is not new to acting. He has appeared on various teleseryes on ABS-CBN such as “Ligaw na Bulaklak”, “Habang May Buhay” and “Magkaribal.” He even won his first acting award, Best Supporting Actor, via the indie film “Dagim.”

But his role in GMA’s “I ♥ You Pare” is not only his first acting project in the Kapuso Network but also his first comedy project ever.

Regine Velasquez is Tonya, a conservative, old-fashioned probinsyana who works in a funeral parlor. She encounters a serious problem in her work that compels her to run from the people who are after her.

While hiding from her misfortune, she impersonates as a drag queen in a bar that Dingdong Dantes’ character Kenneth manages. A crazy love story will develop between the flamboyant Tonette and the alpha male Kenneth in this exciting romantic comedy series that will premiere this Monday night.
