GMA News and Public Affairs Special: “Wildlife for Sale.”

Environmental advocate, Richard Gutierrez, probes the black market of endangered species on the GMA News and Public Affairs Special: “Wildlife for Sale.”

Richard’s new documentary titled “Wildlife for Sale” is his fourth time hosting an environmental special on GMA-7 after “Signos: Banta ng Kalikasan” and “Full Force of Nature” in 2008 and the award-winning “Planet Philippines” in 2009.

The said docu will be launched on July 11 and the matinee idol takes pride to say that he acted as a journalist in the field.

“I can say I did my best as a field journalist. Kasi before when I did Planet Philippines, it was more of reporting pero this time lagi kaming on the go. We are racing against time. So far, this docu is the most risky compared to the ones I did before. Mayroon pa kaming buy-bust operation. First time kong nakakita ng isang tao na inaaresto sa harapan ko dahil sa wildlife trading. Marami talaga akong na-experience sa documentary na ito na I can say would help me in my future documentaries,” said Richard.

“The News and Public Affairs team really wants to mold me into a better journalist in terms of covering the environment. There are some many stories that we can do and I am happy that the stories being given me are very interesting and vital. Marami pang kuwento. Hopefully, by next year we can go international again and relate the Philippines to the international scene. But we are taking things one step at a time,” he added.

Richard’s last docu, Planet Philippines, has won for the country a Bronze World Medal for Environment and Ecology at the 2010 New York Festivals Television and Film Awards.

“Wildlife for Sale” airs this July 11, Sunday night, on GMA-7.
